Shall...We...Dance!

What a beautiful, fun, memorable, truly blessed-by-God weekend this was!

Our weekend began on Friday as Carrie spent the day preparing for her senior homeschool prom.  We had shopped for the perfect dress (which we found!) several weeks earlier, had it altered by a good friend, and then spent Friday just enjoying the day.  Carrie had her hair braided and sparkled, and she painted her own nails.

And, of course, did a silly pose before the real posing began...

Carrie made (yes she did!) a boutonniere out of a .41 Magnum casing.
That beautiful girl in the sparkly dress?  She shot it.
Prrrrretty cool...

That's what she is showing Brent in this picture.

OK!  Now it's time to pose...

And figure out how to pin on the boutonniere.

Brent is giving Carrie the corsage that he had made for her.  The yellow roses were tipped in a pink that exactly matched her dress.  It was perfect.

Boots did not break the dress code.
And...made for some very comfortable dancing.
Those feet didn't hurt the next day!

The guys...which included 2 dads, a grandpa, 4 brothers, an uncle, and 2 cousins...stood by and watched all the picture-taking.

And suddenly, it was Daddy's turn to get in on the picture with his beautiful "Baby Girl."  I love the progression of these pictures, because it is "so them"...

In defense of my shoe choice, I had other slip-on shoes that I was going to wear outside, but Josh got to them before I did.  I was left with my "cotton candy crocks."

Carrie with Grandma and Grandpa...

We all share Marie!
Brent's family and our family claim Marie and her family as our super-good friends.

 Carrie and GG.

Awwwww...have fun, Sweetie!

And they did have fun!

The Heartland Homeschool Prom was held at The Indiana Roof Ballroom. The theme was "An Evening in Venice," complete with a 3-course meal served by waiters entering to the song "Be Our Guest!"  And then dancing, dancing, and more dancing!  The Virginia Reel was one of Carrie's favorites. And the Senior Dance right before midnight.

Before coming home, the group of eight friends who shared a limousine and a table at prom stopped at Applebee's for a late night snacky-dinner type meal.

It was a much-anticipated evening...and was all that Carrie hoped for.
Such fun!

I have to include these pictures!
Marie is trying out Josh's Flicker scooter.  You just can't help yourself!  It's so fast and it drifts!  She handled it very well for a first-timer!  Very well!

Fun people...fun events...fun memories!
