Joshua came into the house this afternoon crying
and asking for my help.
Something had happened at the neighbor's house
that embarrassed him, and he needed my help.
He needed me to physically help him, but more than anything, he needed me to hug him and reassure him.
To tell him that everything would be O.K.
To tell him how special he is to me.
I hate it when my kids feel bad.
I hate it when they are sad.
But I love knowing that they come running home
when they need comfort.
I love that they know that our love is unconditional.
On the eve of the tenth anniversary of September 11th, I can't help but think back to the day that rocked our world.
I remember feeling afraid...like nothing would ever be the same.
I remember looking into the faces of my 5- and 3-year old
and worrying for them.
But I didn't need to worry for them.
They found security and rest in our arms.
And I found security and rest in the arms of my Father.
Rest assured.
I can always run home to the arms of my Father.
He is always there waiting.
Enjoying unconditional love and security,
