OhhhYeahhh

Brilliant idea.
Cookie Saturday.
Ohhhyeahhh.

That was one of the more popular ideas that I have had.
One that the kids reminded me of often..."It's Saturday, Mom!"
It didn't last though.
My conscience killed it.
The guilt was overwhelming.

Another pretty good idea.
One that was a bit less guilt inducing.
Trail Mix.
Ohhhyeahhh.

We took this one on our camping trip back in June.
Delicious...although the boys would have opted out of the raisins if they could have.
This one will be joining us on our next camping trip.
Raisins are invited along.

Check out this beautiful mug of coffee.

My dear friend, Nicky, brought this mug to me back in June.
She didn't know it, but on this particular day
I was thinking of my mom.
This would have been Mom and Dad's
 47th Wedding Anniversary.
Sweet Nicky.

She noticed that many of my mugs have a Christmasy/Winter theme, so she wanted to be sure that I had a beautiful anytime mug for my coffee.

Not only did she bring me that beautiful mug, but she also brought me a cheery little yellow flower and a package of Mackinac Island Fudge.

Ohhhyeahhh.
Thank you, Nicky.

Enjoying those Ohhhyeahhh moments,

Hot House Flowers

Dear Debbie,

I was in Meijer this past Monday picking up some oranges and cantaloupes, potatoes and apples. As William and I were walking toward the checkout lanes, we passed the floral department and I could smell them.

Those beautiful spring flowers that you always referred to as "hot house flowers."
I can remember how excited you would become when you would visit our local Kroger to find that a shipment of the those beautiful flowers had arrived.

Now when I see them and smell them, I think of you.

So, after looking them all over very carefully, I chose a small pot of bright yellow daffodils, in honor of you!

They have been an especially cheerful addition to my kitchen this week...a week when the winter winds have howled and a thick coat of ice has covered everything in sight.

Even warmer and friendlier than that pot of daffodils have been the phone calls and emails that I have received from you this week.

I love you, dear Debbie, and miss and pray for you every single day,

"Monster Time"

Joshua's birthday party theme this year was "Star Wars."
I'm hoping to blog a little bit on his party over the weekend.

"Hoping to."

Until then, I just had to share these videos.

The first one is a video that my pastor's wife, Ellen, sent to me. It is of her son and grandson having some fun with light sabers. They named the video "Monster Time!"

It amazes me how much fun little boys and big boys (and girls) alike have with their light sabers! More proof of this will be in our birthday party pictures! :)

I laughed so hard at this video!

Someone else laughed pretty hard at this video too...

I don't even know how many times we have watched this video since last weekend!

Matthew laughs and laughs every time we watch it.
Joshua just can't figure out how Eric can use "the force" to pick up his light saber.

I'm hoping that Ellen enjoys this blog post as much as we enjoyed--and are enjoying--Eric's "Monster Time" video!

Enjoying the Journey,
